Marieke Pauwels
Marieke Pauwels is a highly acclaimed Belgian artist who has made her mark on the world of contemporary ceramics. With a Master's degree in Fine Arts and as the current
head of the Ceramics Department at the PXL MAD School of Arts in Hasselt, she has a rich academic and artistic background. Since the beginning of her career, Pauwels has exhibited regularly at home and abroad, pushing boundaries and breaking conventions with her innovative approaches to the medium. Her work is characterised by an in-depth exploration of themes such as religion, folk culture and the relationship between matter and energy. Pauwels has gained international recognition, with various awards to her name and invitations to give lectures all over the world.
