Ronald A. Westerhuis

The Dutch visual artist has made an international name for himself with his landscape art and abstract sculptures. His imposing works are made of stainless steel and adorn public spaces, museums and private collections around the world. Westerhuis' fascination with this powerful material arose during his work on oil rigs in the North Sea, where he was struck by its raw beauty. This has been at the core of his artistic vision ever since. With his motto “Size does matter!”, Westerhuis creates sculptures that become iconic landmarks and impress with their scale and impact. Among his most memorable projects is the design of the Olympic flame for the 2008 Games in Beijing.
